Welcome

La Leche League of Charlottesville offers mother-to-mother support, education and encouragement for breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be. All mothers and pregnant women welcome at our meetings or may contact our trained, accredited Leaders for breastfeeding help, information and support.

LLL of Charlottesville is part of La Leche League International, a nonprofit, nonsectarian organization. LLLI both seeks to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education and promotes a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother. We hold FREE monthly breastfeeding support meetings:

The 2nd Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m.

at Westminster Church on Rugby Road.

The 1st Monday of each month at 7 p.m. (Please note the NEW location as of Dec 5, 2011!)

at Bend Yoga on the Downtown Mall.

Young babies and well children are also encouraged to attend. The atmosphere is casual, we have toys for toddlers to play with at the morning meeting, and you will be able to tend to your baby or child's needs. We hope to see you at a meeting soon!

You may contact a leader anytime with a question that can't wait until the next scheduled meeting. All of La Leche League's services are free. We encourage moms to attend meetings in order to benefit from the perspectives of many experienced breastfeeding moms.

LLL of Charlottesville meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 10am at Westminster Presbyterian Church at 400 Rugby Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22903. (We are not affiliated with any of our meeting locations.)

Directions:

Take 29 S to Charlottesville, to the intersection of 29 and Barracks Road (If you are heading South, there will be an empty lot on your left, and an ALC Copies across the intersection to the left. If you are facing North, these will be on your right).

Turn EAST on Barracks Road (between the empty lot & ALC). (That is, if you were going South on 29, turn LEFT. If you were going North on 29, turn RIGHT).

You will come to 3 traffic lights, which are fairly close together.

Turn RIGHT at the 3rd light (Rugby Road).

Take the fourth LEFT onto Gordon Ave.

Take the first RIGHT onto 17th street.

Turn right into the parking lot and park at the uphill end of the lot. Enter the building through the single white door by the handicapped parking spaces. Turn left immediately into a room that looks like a tent inside. Go through to the hallway on the far side, and turn left down the hall. Turn right at the water fountain and we are in the room at the end of the hall.

LLL of Charlottesville meetings on the first Monday evening of each month at 7pm at Bend Yoga on the Downtown Mall. Parking is in the Market Street garage (serviced by an elevator). Bring your ticket and get free parking with validation from Bend.
