concerns can receive phone support or be seen by a Lactation Consultant at the
Clinic as an outpatient. The visit is usually covered by an insurance co-pay.

Informal mom and baby breastfeeding support
group (moms-to-be also encouraged to attend) meets on the first Monday of the
month at 7pm and the second Wednesday of the month at 10am. Leaders are also
available by phone or email to answer questions. Services are free.

WIC
WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselors are assigned to all
pregnant and breastfeeding WIC clients, and a WIC Lactation Consultant is
available for clinic visits and home visits as needed. WIC lends or
provides breast pumps and breastfeeding supplies such as nursing bras,
nursing pads, lanolin, etc.

Affordable Healthcare Act requires insurance companies to provide mothers with
a breast pump, if they choose to use one. Talk with a healthcare provider,
lactation consultant, or breastfeeding peer counselor about what kind of pump
will best suit your needs, and call your insurance company to find out what’s
covered.
